More Photoshop Fun!

I'm coming to realize the power of photoshop. I've used Paint Shop Pro, previously owned by Jasc, now by Corel. But after 7 beginners lessons on Photoshop, it's blown out of the water. It will take me some time to get used to the tools and things in PS, but it's worth it.

My latest lesson was playing around with the Art History Brush. You can blur your whole image, and that brush takes off the blur where you paint. It's kinda like reverse painting.

This is a picture that I took. I thought the car looked cool, but I have no idea what kind of car it is.

Want to learn Photoshop?

I've been taking lessons to learn Photoshop through a yahoo group. I'm in the beginner group, which starts from scratch. I've used Paint Shop Pro for years, so I am familiar with some things, but it assumes you don't know anything at all about graphics. You are sent the lessons by email, then return your homework when you have done it. It's at your own pace, which is nice.

The group is called Learning Photoshop for All. Click picture below to learn more about it and to join. It's totally free, and they will even will send you a link to a trial of Photoshop 3 if you don't have Photoshop. Awesome!

Gratitude and Piracy

Another blogger posted today that people are not following her terms of use for her freebies, and she won't post any more CU (Commercial Use) freebies. A few people ruin things for everybody. I really try to follow others TOU (Terms of Use) for their designs. I have to contact some designers to see if I can use their CU designs to make freebies, as sometimes it's not clear from their enclosed TOU. Yes, it would be easy just to do what I wanted with everything. Easy now, but then you get busted and you could be sued, or at the least, not trusted. And I do not want others to do that with my designs, so I should treat their designs like I want mine to be treated, i.e. follow their TOU, and say thanks. It takes a lot of time to make designers. Even using others designs to make freebies takes some creative mojo, and sometimes I'm all out of mojo lol.

Before I started scrapping, I rarely said thank you for what I downloaded. Now I realize that downloading without a comment really hurts. It's nice to feel appreciated. Now I try to say thanks every time I download a freebie from a blog. They don't have to give them away, and it is nice for them to realize there are many who appreciate their hard work!

I really liked the detail on this frame. The frame and paper I used with it are from Adoration Scrap Kit by Gemini Creationz, which you can get in Tagger Size or Full Size.

One of the frames has a kinda brushed metal look, I'm playing with that effect right now. I really love this kit! I may make more from it, depending on if my design mojo sticks around.

The Importance of saying thank you or an acknowledgement

I used to snag things and rarely even take time to say thank you or anything. Now that I'm putting my stuff out there, I see that every comment is a boost. Cha cha cha Changes!

I don't know if anyone reads this blog or not. I haven't had any comments on it. I've been using it to show what I've made, from tutorials, scraps, masks, etc.

I'd like to get into scrapping and/or web designing. To start out, I am going to make freebies from wonderful designers that allow freebies to be made from their designs. I have been using scraps mainly for tags, and some for my kid's pictures. I have never done scrap booking IRL, only for online, so I'm still learning.

Everything I offer will probably be only for PU-Personal Use, that is usually what most designers require if you use their designs. Which means not making any profit from it. Some may be used for S4H-Scrap for Hire, depending on the TOU of the designer that I am using.
